Job offer

Your role:
As an Enterprise Architect you speak with infectious enthusiasm about IT and digitalization. You listen and think in suitable solutions and look for innovation. This, in combination with your strong information and problem analysis and structuring and advisory skills, make you a convincing and customer-oriented Enterprise Architect. You have an eye for the environment and the various interests of clients, customers, users and supervisors. You do not hesitate to make a conflict of interest explicit and ask relevant questions. You are always looking for opportunities to get people and organizations moving – and keep them moving. You like to talk to stakeholders to include everyone in this. In addition, you are a committed colleague who likes to actively contribute to our own community. Consider, for example, participation in professional groups, development of services and knowledge days.

You contribute to Eindhoven’s digital ambitions in various ways:

  • You participate in change processes that transcend domains, in particular the aforementioned GIVE project. Here you give substance to the chosen strategy with an architecture. You give an integral place to elements such as security, privacy, ethically responsible handling of data and the relevant specific legal frameworks. You translate this into a concrete use of components, including those from the Common Ground portfolio.
  • You ensure awareness, support and understanding of the architecture in the organization.
  • You maintain a relevant network to promote the application and the quality of the architecture. This can be within the municipality, but also outside it, for example at the VNG, the 100,000+ municipalities, Brainport, etc.

Who do you do that with?
From the CIO Office you work directly with the various domain architects, the technical architect Municipality-wide and the program architect. In the domain-oriented approach, you work together with the information manager and the other disciplines of the CIO Office around organizational design, information security, privacy, process and data management. Together you help the service sectors realize their information plans. You also work together with the IT Architects in the Information Technology & Management sector, where much of the technical implementation takes place. Together with the CIO and clients, you agree on the decision-making to be followed to have your proposals placed on the agenda and realized. The portfolio manager is your partner in strategic execution.

This is what you bring with you:

  • You have completed a university education and several years of work experience as a business or IT architect (or a comparable consultancy position such as Business Consultant). Have you gained other relevant experience? Then we would also like to get in touch with you;
  • You have formed a picture of the organization, processes, information and frameworks of municipal services and the themes mentioned. You are eager to learn and quickly acquire new knowledge in this area;
  • You understand the different architectural layers (business, information, application and infrastructure). Knowledge of ArchiMate for making architectural models is an advantage;
  • You deal skillfully with the complexity of the assignments you work on. You can break these down into models and you are able to oversee the scale of a solution. You instinctively estimate what the relevant details are;
  • You communicate skillfully, are convincing and you are able to act at different (organizational) levels.

What do we offer?
With a job that allows you to have an impact on the city and the municipality of Eindhoven. And an informal organizational culture, where attention is paid to a good work and private balance. You can also count on the employment conditions below.

  • A gross monthly salary between €5,561 and €7,325 based on a 36-hour working week. The exact salary is tailored to the education, knowledge and experience you bring;
  • One year contract. If we are satisfied on both sides, it will be converted into a permanent contract;
  • 27 vacation days per year (if you work full-time). In addition, you can build up ADV days and take a total of approximately 10 weeks of leave per year. If you work part-time, this is of course pro rata;
  • On top of your salary you will receive our Individual Choice Budget of 17.05%. This means that 17.05% of your gross monthly salary is reserved for you every month. You can, for example, use this to purchase days of leave or for a bicycle allowance. You can also have this budget paid out (partly);
  • We will fully reimburse your journey by public transport. Are you traveling by car? Then we have a travel allowance of €0.23 per (commuting distance) kilometer from 7.5 km to 40 km one way. Are you coming by bicycle/e-bike or on foot? Then we reimburse €0.23 per km without maximum. And for every day that you work completely from home, you also receive compensation;
  • A wide range of courses and training through the Eindhoven Academy;
  • Hybrid working: a nice mix of working at one of our locations or from home. We offer (home) work facilities to make your workplace safe and healthy. And for every day that you work completely from home, you receive compensation;
  • Free fruit in our buildings and €20 per month discount on a sports subscription at an affiliated gym;
  • Access to the digital version of the Eindhovens Dagblad and 8 hours per year to participate in social activities that contribute to the city.

What do you stand for?
Eindhoven is the city of innovation, technology, design and, above all, the future. In the heart of our fast-growing city, we work energetically with more than 2,700 colleagues to create a great city in which to live, work and recreate. We stand together for our city with involved residents, partners and social agencies.

Hybrid working is possible for most functions, including this position. Employees will therefore work less from the office and more online. This means less travel time and travel. Do you bring the right expertise, but do you live a little further away? Then we cordially invite you to respond to this great substantive challenge!

We find diversity and inclusion very important. There is room for everyone with us. We are happy with the differences between our employees. We prefer to have them as large as those in our city and region. Because it is precisely because we are different that we realize our big plans together. Would you like to know what it is like to work with us? Then read the stories of our employees at www.werkenvooreindhoven.nl.
