The Guardia Civil has arrested a 42-year-old Dutchman and his 36-year-old wife when they crossed the border of the Spanish enclave of Ceuta (near Morocco) on foot with their two minor children, carrying 5.1 kilos of hashish hidden in a stroller.

The Dutchman and the woman, with a residence permit for Belgium, were arrested at Tarajal customs when they entered Ceuta from Morocco, the Guardia Civil said in a statement on Thursday.

40 packages

After an inspection, customs found 5.1 kilos of hashish in the stroller. The hash was in about 40 smaller packages hidden in the frame of the buggy.

The couple’s two children have been placed at the disposal of the juvenile prosecutor of Ceuta. He will initiate the appropriate procedures so that family members can care for them. The parents will be brought to justice for an alleged crime against public health.
