Colin Caresani, a Dutch top talent, has joined Mercedes. The 19-year-old driver will compete in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Series for Schnitzelalm Racing. There he will get behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG GT3. Previously, Caresani already won the BMW M2 Cup and last year he competed in the DTM Trophy.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Series,” Caresani begins delightedly. “After the fantastic season in the DTM Trophy, I have taken the time to make the right choice regarding the next route and I believe that participation in the NLS can make a perfect contribution to my development as a professional racing driver.”

Caresani: ‘This is the perfect opportunity’

The driver from Aerdenhout in North Holland thinks it’s very cool that Schnitzelalm Racing has reported to Caresani. “It’s a very successful team. I know I’m one of the few teenagers in the hard-fought GT3 field, but that doesn’t change my goals. This is the perfect opportunity to measure myself against the factory drivers of Mercedes, with whom I will be working this year.

His purpose is therefore clear. “I want to give Mercedes AMG good feedback, work hard and let my results on track speak for me. Racing on the Nordschleife is something every boy dreams of. It is unique and challenging for everyone. The average qualifying speed of the top riders in the NLS is around 186 kilometers per hour, so that’s seriously fast. I can’t wait to get started,” concludes Caresani.
