Drug line tackled: text message bomb sent


‘s-Gravenzande – The police arrested a total of five suspects at the end of November 2023 and in January 2024 on suspicion of drug trafficking. This tackled a drug line that consisted of a large number of transactions per day and multiple couriers. Contacts who had contact with the deal telephone in recent months have received a text message from the police.

The police started an investigation in September 2023 after receiving information about possible trafficking in Hoek van Holland and ‘s Gravenzande. This led to the arrest of the five suspects: a 38-year-old woman from Hoek van Holland, a 34-year-old man from ‘s Gravenzande and three Rotterdam residents aged 22,19 and 17 years old. In January 2024, a 16-year-old boy and 32-year-old woman were interrogated for their involvement in selling drugs.

TEXT MESSAGE

A large number of people received a text message from the police this week. Their telephone numbers appear in a seized telephone that was only used for drug trafficking. The police took this opportunity to inform the contacts found by text message about the negative health risks of drug use and to point out the extreme social consequences of drugs on our quality of life, safety and the environment.
