After a report of a chemical smell, the police investigated a house on Pasteurstraat on Monday evening. Due to the presence of possible hazardous substances, the area around the house was cordoned off on Monday evening and surrounding homes were evacuated. The fire brigade broke open the house in question and entered it together with police officers. No one was present in the house, but they found, among other things, jerry cans containing unknown substances. Because the lab was not in use and there was therefore no danger to the environment, local residents were able to return to their homes fairly quickly. The police are conducting extensive investigations into the drug lab. The house is being searched today.
