The police in Groningen held a major action in the city of Groningen on Thursday evening, aimed at online drug dealers. During the action, 7 people were arrested and five homes were searched. Half a kilo of cocaine and more than 1,000 ecstasy pills were found there.

The police in Groningen tackled drug trafficking, which often involves (online) drug delivery services, such as Telegram or SnapChat. The police and the Public Prosecution Service have therefore decided to take action to arrest several drug couriers in one evening. The police tracked down the couriers through online research and reports.
This led to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy and 6 men aged 31, 30, 24, 24, 23 and 19 years old, all from Groningen.
During the arrests, quantities of hard drugs were found on the people, the police reported on Friday.
Searched
In addition to the arrests, there were also five searches of homes during which large quantities of different types of hard drugs, many types of designer drugs and cash were found in two homes. This concerns more than half a kilo of cocaine, more than a thousand XTC pills, dozens of grip bags with hard drugs such as speed, XTC and cocaine.
Seizure
The police also seized a car, bicycles and scooters. In addition, several telephones have also been seized, which the police believe can provide more information. Further investigation into those phones is ongoing.
