Breda – A scooter rider hit a pedestrian on Monday evening, March 18, 2024. He left the victim injured. We are looking for witnesses and of course the scooter rider.
At around 7:10 p.m., the scooter drove at high speed along Karnemelkstraat and collided with a 35-year-old man in Ginnekenstraat. The victim is injured and taken to hospital by ambulance. The scooter rider also fell, but continued driving.
Prior to this incident, there was a chase between the police and a scooter rider. Police officers saw a scooter rider doing a wheelie in front of them. He then immediately gets a stop sign. Nevertheless, the scooter rider drives away. The officers lose sight of him on the Nijverheidssingel and break off the chase. A little later the report comes in of the collision. We suspect that this concerns the same scooter as in the collision. This is a black scooter from the Gilera brand with a yellow license plate.

We have secured camera images from the area, but are also looking for witnesses who saw something. Or know where this scooter is located. The scooter should have damage consistent with the accident.
