Micky van de Ven is in the serious interest of Liverpool, reports the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung. The local newspaper expects The Reds to meet VfL Wolfsburg soon.
Van de Ven has had an impressive season in the Bundesliga. That has not gone unnoticed by many big clubs, but Liverpool now seem to want to continue. Van de Ven is no stranger to Jörg Schmadtke, the new sporting director of the Premier League club: when the German was still at the helm in Wolfsburg, Van de Ven came over from FC Volendam.
No official talks have yet been held about Van de Ven, but it is expected that this will change soon. Wolfsburg has already determined its position: it certainly does not want to let the youth international go for less than forty million euros. Liverpool, in turn, is looking for new top players, which emphasizes Van de Ven’s name.
Josko Gvardiol is also on Liverpool’s list. Jürgen Klopp has long dreamed of the arrival of the World Cup star, but his price tag of ninety million euros causes difficulties. As a result, Liverpool’s interest in the RB Leipzig stopper has cooled.
