Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of the Formula One Group believes the sport is now at its strongest. Still, we should always strive for improvement, he reports at Formulapassion.it. He speaks about the future of F1, his expectations for the 2023 season and the popularity of the sport.

Formula 1 is currently one of the biggest and most popular sports in the world. Especially internationally, it has increased sharply in the last year, especially in the United States, which will even be allowed to organize three of the 23 races next year. This growth in popularity has mainly come about thanks to entertainment and the media, but also because the top class of motorsport has risen in level.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali agrees and expresses his satisfaction with achieving these goals. However, this does not mean that he can sit back now. “The main goal of Formula 1 is to keep growing,” says the Italian. ‘As always, this year we will look at how we can take the sport to a higher level again.’

Domenicali: ‘Everything shows the health of Formula 1’

At the moment, the royal class is at its strongest, Domenicali believes. “This shows in terms of the audience, how young and diverse it is,” says the CEO. “But it can also be seen in the attention we are getting from sponsors, new broadcasters and media outlets who want to develop global F1 news. In addition, the phone is ringing with promoters from all over the world,” says Domenicali, clearly demonstrating the health of Formula 1.

Domenicali hopes for an exciting title fight for the 2023 season. The former Ferrari team boss hopes that there will be good competition between the teams and the drivers, which can also lay the foundation for attracting fans and achieving a good season. “The basis is there for wheel-to-wheel battles, which will warm us up for an exciting season,” says the Italian. “Last year we already saw that it can become very exciting with the new technical regulations. I hope that with the evolution of the cars it will continue through the 2023 season,” said Domenicali.
