Hilvarenbeek – The driver of the car died in a single-vehicle traffic accident on the N269 on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, and the passenger was seriously injured. The police assume that the victims are Polish migrant workers. With the help of the embassy and the employment agency, we are working to inform family members of the men.
The driver drove his car on the Provincialeweg, the N269, on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at approximately 00:30, coming from the direction of Tilburg and going in the direction of Hilvarenbeek. At the roundabout near Tilburgseweg, the car apparently drove straight ahead. The vehicle was, as it were, launched and landed on the verge on the other side of the roundabout and eventually came to a stop on the slope.
The two occupants were trapped. Firefighters removed both right doors for emergency extrication. They also used a hydraulic ram to lift the dashboard because both occupants were stuck under the dashboard.
The Traffic team and a traffic accident analyst are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
