Local governments now work almost entirely digitally. One of the tasks of the Westfries Archives is to ensure that this digital government information can be stored sustainably and reliably forever and that this information is accessible and available to everyone. In addition to digital information, we also ensure that our special historical documents are made more easily accessible and searchable online using innovative techniques.

What are you going to do
In this position you work together with your fellow data specialists and, together with your colleague administrator, you are the point of contact and responsible for the functional and technical management of the information systems of the Westfries Archives. This is where information policy, innovation and application management come together. MAIS’s archive management system and E-Depot, our data warehouse and Microsoft 365 are central to this.

You work closely with the users of the applications and your colleagues within information management. You understand user wishes and know how to translate them into practical solutions within the framework of the information systems.

In addition to functional management, you help us in the technical field with monitoring servers, networks, data lines, peripheral equipment and workstations. You contribute improvements, closely monitor innovations and ensure continuity of the systems. You are part of a multidisciplinary data and information team.

Further

  • Building our own data warehouse.
  • Contribute to our digital regional digitization projects.
  • Research and application of innovative developments in the field.
  • Helping the organization translate technical issues into understandable information.
  • Provide support for incidents and reports.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation.

Who are you
You are very handy with Excel, you have thorough knowledge of Azure, Python and SQL/SPARQL. You are interested in the use of AI for text recognition and speech recognition and you would like to explore new innovative methods and techniques to combine, enrich and make data accessible.

Further

  • You have at least HBO working and thinking level.
  • You are trained in the field of data or information management and can work with MS365, Python and Azure.
  • You understand network infrastructure.
  • You are interested in or experience with GIS.
  • You have no experience in the archives business.
  • You can effectively determine goals and priorities.
  • You are proactive, independent, energetic and think in solutions.
  • You have excellent communication skills and make contact easily.
  • You enjoy being part of a driven team.

What do we offer?
A varied job in an informal organization with responsibility, versatility and opportunities for development and innovation.

  • An employment contract for 32 – 36 hours per week.
  • A salary between €3,317 and €4,752 gross per month (scale 9 based on 36 hours per week). Classification depends on knowledge and experience. Classification in a range scale is possible.
  • Initially you will receive an annual contract from us. If there is mutual satisfaction, we would like to convert the contract to a contract for an indefinite period.
  • Individual Choice Budget of 17.05% of your gross annual salary (made up of, among other things, holiday pay and end-of-year bonus)
  • We believe that room for development, personal initiative and independence are important. You can follow training and courses through the Westfriesland Academy.
