The condition of former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi has improved. He has been successfully treated for a lung infection and has been in hospital for three weeks, where he has yet to remain.
At the beginning of this month, Berlusconi was admitted to a hospital in Milan with heart and respiratory problems. His doctors later said he had been suffering from leukemia for some time.
Ten days ago, doctors already reported that he was doing better and he was transferred from the intensive care unit to the normal nursing ward.
Fragile health
The former prime minister, who sits in the senate on behalf of his center-right ruling party Forza Italia, has been struggling with fragile health for some time. For example, he was admitted several times in 2020 after contracting a corona infection. Four years earlier, he underwent heart surgery.
On May 5 and 6 there will be a festive party meeting of Forza Italia, founded by Berlusconi. Several members have expressed hope that by then he will be recovered and able to join the party.
