On Monday, a batch of cocaine from Curaçao was discovered in the port of Rotterdam during a customs check. it was about 697 kilos of cocaine that had been placed in a container with batteries.
The container came from Curaçao and was destined for a company in Kampen. During the check, customs officers saw 23 sports bags containing packages of cocaine, directly behind the container doors.
The recipient in Kampen seems to have nothing to do with the smuggling, according to the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam.
The HARC team, a 27-year-old partnership of Customs, FIOD, Seaport Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam, is investigating the case further. The drugs have since been destroyed.
