Cocaine and bags of money: four arrests in Amersfoort

Four suspects were arrested in Amersfoort on Tuesday in an ongoing police investigation into drug trafficking. During searches of various homes in Amersfoort and Woudenberg, cocaine and bags containing money were seized.

During a so-called “undermining action”, the police saw on Tuesday that a bag was transferred between two people. The recipient of this bag, a 41-year-old man from Belgium, was arrested. The bag contained a large amount of money.

Coke and bags of money

The deliverer of the bag, a 29-year-old Amersfoort resident, was followed to a house in Amersfoort. This man was arrested when he left the house. Another 29-year-old man from Woudenberg, who left the same home, was also arrested. The police found a large amount of cocaine and bags with money on him.

Three searches

Following the arrests, two homes in Amersfoort and a home in Woudenberg were searched. In one of the homes in Amersfoort, the police found, among other things, a money counting machine and packaging material. A large amount of adulterant was discovered in the other home in Amersfoort and a large amount of cocaine in a passenger car. The owner of the car, a 27-year-old woman from Amersfoort, was also arrested.

The police did not report in a press release on Friday how much cocaine and money had been seized.
