Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) – IT job in Netherlands

Due to the many challenges that exist in the field of information security, we are looking for a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

The function

As a CISO, together with the Data Protection Officer (FG), you ensure a good, integrated approach to our information security. As a CISO, you help build a reliable information provision and promote security awareness in the organization to guarantee services to our residents. By having everything in order internally, our residents, entrepreneurs and colleagues can trust that the BVEB, the municipality of Maasdriel and the municipality of Zaltbommel will handle their information and personal data safely and carefully.

What are your responsibilities?

• Every day you work to limit possible safety risks in our systems, work processes, policies and actions.
• You draw up the information security policy and monitor compliance with it.
• You ensure an up-to-date information security plan and coordinate the process and the resulting activities.
• Together with the FG, you ensure the handling of incidents and data leaks.
• You act as a director in security projects, providing guidance to project leaders within organizational units.
• As a municipal organization, we are obliged to account for information security and quality in the organization. This is done, among other things, through the ENSIA. As an ENSIA coordinator, you ensure that all data is in order for this audit by, among other things, completing the questionnaires, carrying out audits and directing the decision-making process.
• You provide information and internal training to staff in the field of information security.
• You provide solicited and unsolicited advice to directors, management, council and FG and are not afraid to express your opinion.

Where do you come to work?

The ‘river island’ Bommelerwaard is located between the Maas and the Waal. Its central location along the A2, the varied landscape and the rich history make it attractive to live, recreate and work. The municipalities of Zaltbommel and Maasdriel work closely together to maintain this. The Bommelerwaard Business Unit (BVEB) supports the municipalities in the areas of Finance, Legal Affairs, Information & Automation and HRM.

Your profile

What do we expect from you?

You have:

• An HBO/WO working and thinking level and at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in a comparable position as a CISO.
• A completed HBO education in a relevant field.
• Certification such as CISM or CISSP is an advantage.
• Familiarity with the Government Information Security Baseline (BIO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 is an advantage.

You are:

• Collaboration-oriented, eager to learn and willing to professionalize things together. Oversees your broad range of tasks like no other, enjoys a lot of personal responsibility and direct contact with users.
• Decisive, flexible, initiative-rich. Not afraid to show courage, experiment and make mistakes •
• Communicative and analytical skills, both oral and written, and does not shy away from overcoming resistance to policies and guidelines.
• Aware of new developments and legislation in the field of information security.

Employment conditions

What can you count on?

In addition to a competitive salary, scale 11, maximum €5,997 (full-time), you will receive an annual 17.05% Individual Choice Budget. This budget is reserved monthly. You decide how you want to use the IKB. For example, you can use it to purchase additional days of leave or have them paid out at a time that suits you. You will also be loaned a mobile phone and a laptop. We have an excellent package of secondary employment conditions, such as travel allowance for commuting, work from home allowance, variable working hours and study opportunities. We work (mostly) digitally and where you are needed. From home, on location or the municipal office. If you work at the office, there is plenty of free parking. Your location is Zaltbommel.
