Nieuwe Niedorp – The police arrested four men red-handed on Thursday, January 25, after a burglary at a business premises on Dorpsstraat in Nieuwe Niedorp. Since the turn of the year, more than twenty burglaries have occurred in business premises in North Holland North. This mainly concerns catering establishments. Investigation must reveal whether the suspects have also been involved in previous burglaries in business premises.

The police received a report of the red-handed burglary around 2:25 am. When officers arrived on scene, they saw a vehicle driving away. The vehicle was then quickly ordered to stop, and the driver and co-driver were arrested. The two other occupants then managed to flee into a garden after which they were arrested with the help of a police dog. Several burglary tools were found in the suspects’ vehicle.

The four suspects concern a 33-year-old man without a permanent place of residence, two 19-year-old men from Schagen, and an 18-year-old man from Schagen. The suspects are still in custody and their role is being further investigated.

Series of burglaries in business premises

Since the turn of the year, more than twenty burglaries have occurred in business premises in North Holland North. The police are conducting intensive investigations into this series of burglaries. On Monday, January 22, a 19-year-old man from Schagen was arrested after a burglary at a business premises in Westerland. He will be brought before the examining magistrate today, Thursday January 25. Detectives are continuing the investigation into the burglaries. A possible connection between the series of burglaries is being further investigated. Also whether the five suspects were involved in the other burglaries. With the arrests, the police hope that the series of burglaries has come to an end.

  • A special lock on a burglar-sensitive sliding door
  • Sufficient outdoor lighting
  • Time clock switches on all floors of your building. Have your interior lights turn on and off at different times
