Buddy Vedder and Fenna Ramos will be the ambassadors of the very first National Children’s Theater Week. From 18 to 25 October, sixty theaters in the Netherlands will open their doors to all children up to the age of 18. Besides the fact that many children and youth performances are shown during this week, there are also numerous other activities for them.

Albert Verlinde, chairman of the National Theater Fund, is pleased that Buddy and Fenna are willing to cooperate. ‘Both feel very well what is going on with young people,’ says Albert. ‘Whether they are four or fourteen years old. Fenna has a lot of experience with children through her work as a presenter at NPO Z@ppelin and can also be found in the theater a lot. Buddy is also incredibly popular with this target group. I am convinced that these two talented people will get young people to the theater this week like no other.’

Buddy Vedder feels honored to have been asked to be the ambassador of the first National Children’s Theater Week. ‘I know how much fun it is to go to the theater as a child. You really end up in a different world. I felt that like something magical. I hope to be able to pass on this experience to other children as well. To show them how fun and versatile the theater is.’

The National Children’s Theater Week is an initiative of the National Theater Fund and the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund, with the support of the VriendenLoterij, the parties behind the National Theater Weekend. From 18 to 25 October, the autumn holiday, no less than sixty theaters throughout the Netherlands will open their doors to this target group.
