Boy dies after accident

Duizel – At the Waterhof, an 8-year-old boy from Duizel died in an accident with a passenger car at the end of the afternoon on Wednesday. Police traffic specialists are investigating the cause.

The collision happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. The boy collided with a passenger car on the roadway. Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, arrived on the scene, but unfortunately help to the boy was of no avail. What exactly happened is the subject of the investigation by the team of traffic specialists of the police. After the accident, they conducted trace investigations at the scene and interviewed those involved and witnesses. The driver of the car in question, a 64-year-old resident of Lage-Mierde, was arrested for questioning according to protocol. We took a breathalyzer test from him, which was negative. We seized the car in which the man was driving for technical examination. The driver was allowed to go home after questioning.
