Naaldwijk – The police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Leiden early Friday morning for his involvement in a home robbery on the Tomatenstraat. One of the residents was injured in the robbery and taken to hospital. The investigation team is urgently looking for witnesses.
Friday morning around 4.30 am, the residents of the house on the Tomatenstraat were startled by a loud bang. When they went to take a closer look, they saw the young robber standing on the landing. A struggle ensued, with both the man of the house and the suspect falling down the stairs. The struggle continued on the ground floor. The resident was hit with a hard object. The resident and his wife managed to overpower the suspect and take the melee weapon from him. With the help of neighbours, they kept the young suspect under control until the police arrived. The suspect was arrested and taken to the police station. The resident was transported to hospital.
