PSV will most likely lose Johan Bakayoko. The twenty-year-old winger is about to move to Brentford, reports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
It seems that Bakayoko played his last game for PSV against Rangers FC (5-1) on Wednesday evening. The Belgian enjoys interest from Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Brentford, among others, and it is now clear that the latter club is winning. PSV was crystal clear: only after the return against Rangers did the club want to think about a possible sale and Bakayoko is not allowed to leave for less than thirty million euros.
The people of Eindhoven seem to be getting their way. According to Romano, Bakayoko is on his way to Brentford for €40 million, including bonuses. PSV stipulates a resale percentage, it sounds. The last dots are currently being put on the i, after which Bakayoko signs a contract with The Bees.
In 2019, Bakayoko made the transition from RSC Anderlecht’s youth academy to that of PSV. Last year he finally enforced his place in the main force. Bakayoko has been a permanent fixture under trainer Peter Bosz so far. He played a total of 44 official matches for PSV 1. He scored seven times and provided nine assists.
PSV has already pre-sorted for the likely departure of Bakayoko. Hirving Lozano has to come back to Eindhoven. All parties involved expect that PSV and SSC Napoli will come out.
