The Elder Scrolls: Castles

Bethesda said: “We’re excited to finally share The Elder Scrolls: Castles, our new mobile game from the team behind Fallout Shelter. They have been hard at work over the past few years and we love the end result.” So the game has been in development for years and that implies that Bethesda also has big plans for it. It is not known whether there will be microtransactions, but it is expected. Furthermore, the game appears to be free-to-play.

Bethesda writes: “In Castles you build your own dynasty where every day in our world is a year in the game’s world. Citizens are born, they die, rulers change and can be betrayed. This soft launch is one of the first steps to gather feedback and implement changes before launching globally.”

Elder Scrolls Castles

Mobile game à la Fallout Shelter

In this game you get a castle at your disposal and it is up to you to run it. Preferably with success, so that your castle can grow bigger and bigger. In the game you not only get to know the castle, but also the characters who play a role in it. One day of playing in the real world is a whole year in this game. You can add rooms yourself and you have to go on quests in which you will encounter old acquaintances from Elder Scrolls who you will probably have to fight. In any case, you can earn valuable things with it, although it is still unclear what exactly.

There is a catch in this apparently ‘god’-like game, because if your subjects are not happy with the choices you make, they may try to kill you… So play at your own risk. Hopefully that can happen soon, because although the game has been in the Google Play Store for a few months, there is no trace of it in Europe yet. The Philippines is up first and more countries will be added sometime in the coming months. Netherlands please.

Elder Scrolls app

Sweetener for the real thing

Why? Not only because Elder Scrolls is so popular, but also because the makers have really created a great mobile game with Fallout Shelter. That is not just our opinion, it has also been proven: the game first appeared on iOS in 2015, then it went to Android in 2015, PC in 2016, Xbox One in 2017, followed by Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2018. Moreover, It is also a good sweetener: the next big Elder Scrolls game is not expected until 2028 (!).
