Batches of coke between frozen chicken and squid in the port of Rotterdam

During various Customs inspections in the port of Rotterdam, two batches of cocaine totaling 52 kilos were found on Monday. The batches came from Brazil and Peru.

Frozen chicken

The first 30 kilos were found by Customs in a container with frozen chicken that was loaded in Brazil. The container was destined for a company in Hamburg, Germany. The company probably has nothing to do with the smuggling, according to the Public Prosecution Service.

Four million euros

The second batch of 22 kilos was hidden between a load of squid from Peru. The shipment arrived in Rotterdam via a stopover in the port of Balboa in Panama. The container was destined for a company in Rotterdam. This company also seems to have nothing to do with smuggling. The two parties represent a street value of almost four million euros.

The HARC team, a partnership of Customs, FIOD, Seaport Police and the Public Prosecution Service, is investigating the finds. The drugs found were destroyed.
