Carlos Sainz won the Australian Grand Prix after Max Verstappen retired in the opening phase of the race due to a broken brake. The brake caught fire and it was clear that Verstappen could not continue. Charles Leclerc completed the Italian party by joining P2. Lando Norris took third place. Sergio Pérez managed to score points for Red Bull Racing in P5.
