Attempted street robbery in Maarssen, police are looking for witnesses

MAARSSEN – On Monday, February 20, a 47-year-old man from IJsselstein has an appointment to buy a telephone via Marktplaats. When he arrives at the agreed place, the suspect threatens with a stabbing weapon and demands his money. The police are looking for witnesses.

Between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm the victim has the appointment in the vicinity of the Nicolaas Maesstraat near the Frans van Mierisstraat in Maarssen. The suspect then threatens the victim with a stabbing weapon. The victim does not give up and a fight ensues. The perpetrator then flees from Nicolaas Maesstraat towards Frans van Mierisstraat.

Police are looking for a person who fits the following description:

  • Boy between 17-19 years old
  • 150-160 centimeters tall
  • White skin color
  • Normal posture
  • Full face
  • Dark colored eyes
  • Dark flax mustache
  • Ears in
  • Black hat
  • Black jacket with hood
  • Black track pants
  • Black face mask
