Aston Martin clear after Hamilton transfer: ‘We would like to continue with him’

Mike Krack has a clear goal for 2024: lead Aston Martin to a first Grand Prix victory. The team boss also discusses the transfer of Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025. The departure of the Mercedes driver could also have consequences for Fernando Alonso.

“I have the feeling that the winter break in Formula 1 is getting shorter,” laughs Krack, quoted by Speedweek.com. ‘We were just at the final of the world championship in Abu Dhabi and now we are already facing the winter tests in Bahrain. We had a great season last year, full of positive aspects.’

Aston Martin has been working hard for next season. “We have tried to look at every aspect, whether it is the car or reliability, to take a step forward in all areas. We hope we have done enough to put a strong car on the track.”

Transfer season

“The transfer season has started much earlier than we expected,” Krack said after Hamilton’s transfer. ‘We knew that 2024 would be an exciting year with a lot of speculation. As far as we are concerned it is simple: We love Alonso and have a very good relationship with him.’

“We would like to continue with Alonso,” Krack continues. ‘We have two great drivers. They are so integrated into the team that we do everything we can to keep them. We are confident that we can achieve what we want: Continue with both drivers in 2025 and beyond.”
