According to the police, there has been a breakthrough in the investigation into arson in Nuland in Brabant. Two men were arrested on Wednesday morning. There were several arsons in Nuland last year and an explosive device was found.
Other suspects
The suspects are a 32-year-old man from Boxtel and a 41-year-old man from Rotterdam. What their precise role was is now being further investigated. The investigation is still ongoing and police have other possible suspects in mind.
Molotov cocktails
In September 2023, Molotov cocktails were thrown at a family’s home and cars. That happened on the Akkerpolei in the Schotsheuvel district. A car burst into flames and the house was spared, despite a fire at the facade.
There were four adults, a toddler and a newborn baby in the home at the time of the attack.
During the investigation, the detectives made a connection between the arson and the discovery of an explosive. As far as we know, the two are not suspected of the explosive. Someone was arrested in that investigation in November.
