In Friesland, the police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a 41-year-old man from Sneek in May this year. The man probably appears on camera images that the police previously shared.
This concerns a 22-year-old man without a permanent place of residence. The investigation has not yet been completed with the arrest of the 22-year-old suspect. The man is still in custody and is being interrogated. She reported this in a message on Thursday afternoon.
The police received a report on Tuesday afternoon, May 9, around 2:30 PM that no contact could be made with the resident of a home on Molenkrite in Sneek. The police then entered the home and found a deceased man there.
Police investigation revealed that the man had died as a result of a crime, probably in the night of 4 to 5 May.
The detective then spoke with local residents, viewed images and carried out trace investigations.
The police have asked the public for help in various ways, including the use of the so-called Mobile Media Lab, a truck containing an information room. Attention was also paid to this case several times in the Investigation Requested programme.
The suspect who was arrested is probably one of the men that the police showed in images. She has now removed these images from the social media channels and the police.nl website, she said on Thursday. The police still want to get in touch with people in the Molenkrite and Noorderhoek districts, who may know more about the victim. She recently also distributed flyers in those neighborhoods.
