‘s-Hertogenbosch – On July 9, 2022 we received a report of a hand grenade at a tanning salon in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The Explosive Clearance Service of Defense (EOD) removed the hand grenade at the time and eight buildings in the area were evacuated as a precaution. This morning we arrested a 43-year-old man, without a fixed place of residence and residence.
After placing the hand grenade, the perpetrator detonated another high explosive in front of the property. The perpetrator then fled on a scooter.
The notification
In the morning of July 9, 2022, the police received a report that there was damage to the shop on Hildebrandstraat. Colleagues then went to the scene and discovered a possible explosive device attached to the boarded up front door of the building. After an initial inspection by a police specialist, a so-called Explosives Reconnaissance Team Leader (TEV), the EOD was called in. They managed to remove the explosive from the front door and secure it. Within a radius of fifty meters, the police have made everyone safe. Eight buildings were evacuated.
