The police in Limburg made an arrest on Wednesday evening after a shooting in Meerssen. A man was injured in the incident.
Injured
The shooting took place around 8.30 pm on Molenveldweg in Meerssen. A 38-year-old man from Landgraaf was injured in the incident. Police found him at the scene of the incident. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Apprehended
The police said that a 61-year-old resident of Meerssen was arrested a short time later in the vicinity of the incident, on suspicion of involvement in the incident. Investigation must reveal what preceded the event, thus the police.

According to news channel L1, shots were fired near a gym in the street. Bystanders reported that the injured man entered this gym after being hit. A news photo shows that ambulance personnel also enter the entrance of the gym.
