Arrest after intentional collision

Breda РAn argument in a caf̩ results in a collision and attempted serious assault. One suspect has been arrested.

On Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 4:15 am, several surveillance units will be sent to the Konijnenberg, where a situation is said to have gotten completely out of hand.

Row

When the officers arrive on the scene, there are two vehicles with damage. There are also some men who are arguing. It takes a while before it becomes clear what happened. Turns out two groups have had a fight in a cafe in town before. Walking to their car they meet again and there is some swearing back and forth.

Intentional collision

The argument continues with the two cars in which the men leave. It becomes a chase where the two vehicles collide. A vehicle with a Belgian license plate probably deliberately crashed into another. The driver of this car may also have hit him with an iron pipe. This 22-year-old man from Essen (Belgium) is arrested for attempted serious assault. He’s been drinking too. Some witness statements are recorded. Detectives will try to clarify what happened on Sunday.

Witnesses wanted

Both vehicles have been at odds with each other for quite some time. This happened, among others, on the Northern Rondweg, the Belcrumweg and the Terheijdenseweg. One of the cars is a black pick-up truck with a Belgian license plate. If you saw anything around 4 o’clock that could be related to this case, please report it to us on 0900-8844.
