'Armed men attack seagoing vessel in Ghent port'

On Wednesday night, armed men attacked a seagoing vessel that was moored in the port of Ghent. They allegedly assaulted a crew member and then fled. This is reported by Het Nieuwsblad. The attacked ship is the Stella GS, 177 meters long and 28 meters wide.

Two people would have gone on board armed. The police allegedly found cocaine on or near the ship. How much is unknown.

The public prosecutor of East Flanders says it is investigating but does not want to give details.

The Stella GS is a bulk carrier and sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands. It has already left the port of Ghent and is on its way to the port of Rostock in Germany.
