Job offer
Application and data specialist (32-36 hours) with a focus on the e-depot
Governments and private organizations are faced with the challenge of carefully selecting their data, making it accessible and preserving it for the future. Questions like: ‘are all files saved in the desired file format?’, ‘is everything still there?’ and ‘how do we deal with the new media, such as e-mail messages, Twitter messages and Instagram?’ are central to this. The Central Holland Regional Archive in Gouda is therefore working on setting up and setting up a digital depot. Are you an enthusiastic information specialist with a heart for data and heritage who can help us with this?
Organization
The Central Holland Regional Archive (SAMH) is the memory of the Central Holland region. The depot contains archive documents from the year 1271 to the 2000s. The ancient Librije with special books from the past, an online photo collection with 90,000 photos and the archives of the municipalities of Gouda, Krimpenerwaard, Krimpen a/d IJssel, Waddinxveen & Zuidplas are examples of this.
The public functions of the regional archive are located in the Chocolate Factory in Gouda, together with the Gouda Library, Kruim Eten en Drinken, Drukkerswerkplaats Gouda and Mirakel Musicaltheater, among others. The physical archives are housed in the Gouwedepot.
What are you going to do?
You are involved in the development of the e-depot from the start and enjoy starting from scratch with the design. In the beginning you will have to puzzle and test a lot to get to the right result.
Of course you don’t do this alone. You will work with the e-depot together with colleagues from the Information Management & Supervision team.
The first pilots consist of recording the ‘video tules’ of our five municipalities. These are the recordings of the council meetings with associated council documents and metadata. Together with colleagues from the Midden-Holland Environment Agency, you will start with a pilot for including building permits in the e-depot. In addition to recording and managing, making these sources searchable for citizens and officials is very important.
Activities
• You work on the functional design of the e-depot. You also have contact with the supplier.
• Together with the information advisor you supervise the connection processes of municipalities at the edepot. You receive and manage digital archives and you also perform technical checks.
• You are busy connecting the e-depot to the needs of your colleagues and users at the municipalities. You help users by providing (online) training.
• Together with your colleague you are also involved in the management of the archive management system and you follow developments in making digital heritage such as Linked Open Data accessible.
What are you taking
• Experience with applications and the migration and conversion of (meta)data
• You work independently but are also a team player
• Affinity with IT and information management
• You can easily transfer information to your colleagues and enjoy giving explanations
• You express yourself clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally, in Dutch and English
If you do not fully meet the profile, do not hesitate to apply anyway. We’d love to talk to you!
What do we offer you?
• A salary of a maximum of €4,208 gross per month (CAO SGO, scale 9) with a 36-hour working week
• A contract for initially 1 year. If you like it on both sides, we would like to enter into a long-term partnership with you
• An individual choice budget (IKB) of 17.05% in addition to your salary that you can withdraw when it suits you
• A tax-efficient vitality and sustainability budget
• A travel allowance and homework allowance
• An informal organization in which it is pleasant to work
• Working from home options
