Hedel/Soest – On Tuesday, April 9, a man was again arrested for involvement in the violent New Year’s Eve in Hedel. It concerns a 29-year-old man from Soest.
The man is stuck. His role during the violent disturbances, in which police officers and other emergency workers were attacked with heavy explosives, is being further investigated.
The investigation into the violent explosion in Hedel, in which several officers were injured, has been ongoing since the turn of the year. On Thursday, April 4, the investigation team published photos of seven men who are still wanted for involvement in the intense violence in the Crime Scene investigation program. The arrested man is not one of the men shown in the Crime Scene.
Suspects from all over the country
The arrested man is the fifth suspect to be arrested. Previously, a 45-year-old man from Hedel, a 24-year-old man from Zaltbommel, a 29-year-old man from Ermelo and a 22-year-old man from the municipality of Maasdriel were arrested. All suspects are still in custody, with the exception of the 24-year-old man from Zaltbommel. He may await his trial in freedom.
In recent weeks, homes have been searched in Hedel, Zaltbommel, Ermelo, Uden, Krimpen aan de IJssel and Soest.
