Anonymous tip leads to almost 500 kilos of cocaine in Naarden business premises


On Tuesday, February 22, the police found almost 500 kilos of cocaine during a raid on a business premises on Nikkelstraat in Naarden. Items that could be used to package drugs were also found. A 26-year-old man from Amsterdam who was present in the building has been arrested as a suspect. The police only announced the news today.

Anonymous tip

The reason for the raid was an anonymous tip that came in via Report Crime Anonymous. The reporter described that there were more suspicious situations at the business premises. The suspicion was expressed that there was a drug lab in the building. The police investigated the anonymous tip and decided to raid the building on Tuesday afternoon, February 22.

Firearm and speedboat

In the business premises, the police found more than 400 kilos of cocaine, all kinds of goods that could be used to package drugs, various bottles with dangerous liquids and a firearm. The police also seized a speedboat and a large safe. The police found almost 100 kilos of cocaine in the safe. According to the police, the total estimated street value of the approximately 500 kilos of cocaine amounts to almost 25 million euros.

At the time of the raid, there was one person in the building, a 26-year-old man from Amsterdam. He has been arrested. The police are conducting further investigations and say they cannot rule out multiple arrests.

The business premises have been closed by the municipality for six months.
