Amsterdam Zuid station is open again around 8:30 am after a fire cracking. Due to the explosion at the NS service center, the station was closed to travelers for hours on Tuesday morning and no trains stopped. No one was injured. Nothing has been released about the perpetrator or perpetrators.
The police are conducting an extensive investigation into the burglary and are looking for witnesses. The police say that around 4:10 a.m. a report came in about a huge bang near the station.
The service shop appeared to be significantly damaged. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service conducted an on-site investigation into any explosives left behind. These were not found.
