In 2024 it will be exactly twenty years ago that actress Guusje Nederhorst died from cancer. She was the creator of the dogs Woezel & Pip, which, in addition to a children’s book series and cartoons, now represent an entire brand. Guusje’s partner Dinand Woersthoff and the woman he now lives with, Lucy, have sold their popular children’s brand Woezel & Pip. Their companies Dromenjager and Van Hoorne Entertainment announce that the parties have entered into an agreement. “Twenty years after Guusje Nederhorsts’ creation of Dutch favorite dogs, owners Dinand & Lucy Woesthoff have decided that now is the right time to pass on Dream Hunter,” says a press release.

“We will no longer be involved, but the current creative team led by the original Woezel & Pip illustrator – Wil Raymakers will continue,” say Dinand and Lucy Woesthoff. The couple found the decision to let go of Dromenjager and Woezel & Pip very difficult. “After our emigration to Ibiza in 2021, we came to the conclusion that managing the brand and company remotely was less effective than we had hoped. After working on the brand with such intense love and commitment for almost twenty years, we felt that it was now time to pass on Guusje’s dream to a new team with fresh insights, energy and plans.”
