Bunnik – A 15-year-old boy was walking on Tolhuislaan in Bunnik yesterday afternoon, November 16. Two suspects wearing balaclavas walked up to the young boy, but an alert citizen immediately raised the alarm.
In the afternoon, the control room receives a report from a citizen who indicates that he sees a suspicious situation. Two boys wearing balaclavas would be standing with another boy. When the officers arrived at the location, it turned out that the victim had been robbed of his phone. The suspects had now fled on their bicycles. The area was still being searched. “Find my” was also used, but unfortunately without result. But then something unexpected happens.

The officers were talking to the victim when one of the suspects cycled past. The colleague did not hesitate for a moment and immediately ran after the boy. The 15-year-old suspect confronted the officer and was stopped. The boy was immediately recognized by the victim, after which the 15-year-old suspect from Utrecht was arrested. He was transferred to the detention center in Houten.
Second arrest at home
Through investigation, a second 15-year-old from Utrecht was soon arrested at home. Both boys are suspected of involvement in the robbery and are still in custody. The victim has now got his phone back.
