Ajax must start the following search: head of youth academy Ouaali leaves

Ajax has to look for a new head of youth academy. Saïd Ouaali is not going to extend his expiring contract in Amsterdam. Ajax will announce this on Thursday afternoon via the club channels.

From 2016, Ouaali has been active as head of Ajax’s youth academy. Before that, he held that position on an interim basis, while he previously worked as a youth trainer and coordinator of the superstructure at the national champion. Ouaali’s current contract expires this summer, so he has chosen not to renew. “For over 11 years I have worked with colleagues with great pleasure for our youth academy, in my view still the lifeblood of the club,” Ouaali begins in conversation with the club channels.

“In those years we have been able to guide many youth players in their individual path to Ajax 1, something I am very proud of. I have come to the conclusion that it is time to hand over the baton. I thank the club and all colleagues for all the confidence in recent years and, of course, always stay connected to Ajax from a distance.”

Ajax will therefore soon have to look for a new boss of the youth academy. It recently managed to fill a number of vacancies in the technical organization with the arrival of director of football affairs Sven Mislintat and football commissioner Jan van Halst. However, Scout Henk Veldmate very recently also chose to close the door behind him in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
