50 kilos of coke intercepted on ship

The National Visitation Team (LVT) of Customs found four bales with a total of 50 packages of cocaine during an inspection on board a motor ship from South America on Saturday. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the street value of the consignment of drugs is more than 3.7 million euros.

The motor vessel was moored in the port of Rotterdam. The Customs Special Assistance Team removed and destroyed the drugs.

The HARC team, a collaboration between the FIOD, Seaport Police, Customs and the Public Prosecution Service, is investigating the case.

The Public Prosecution Service reports that no further information can be provided due to the ongoing investigation.
