3 things we already know about Dune 3

Dune 2 turned out very differently than we expected, but what a strong film it is. A film that also leaves you wanting more. After all, there are still a lot of open ends and we hope that certain people will get their sweet revenge while riding worms… Fortunately, that will happen, because Dune 3 is in development! And to stay in the theme of the 3, we already mention the three things we already know about the successor.

1. Denis Villeneuve is back

It’s probably just as important as the presence of actors like Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya: director Denis Villeneuve is back. It is not yet known whether the actors have already been roped in, but the director is already present. No wonder: Dune is really his baby. Villeneuve, who previously made Blade Runner 2049 and Sicario, is a much-loved director. He has also proven time and again that he knows what to do with Dune: the second film is the most successful film of the year with a gross of 630 million dollars. Good that he’s back for the third.

2. Based on Frank Herbert – Dune Messiah

Villeneuve is not making Dune from his thumb: although there are certainly elements he has added himself, he bases the films on the books by Frank Herbert. The trilogy would be completed with a film based on Dune Messiah, the 1969 book. That is an interesting question, because there were 12 years between the books. Villeneuve has already said that he would actually like protagonist Timothée to actually grow a bit older, because that would fit well. We wonder if this handsome actor will look so different in 12 years. But of course we say that mainly because we certainly don’t want to wait that long for the third one.

3. Hans Zimmer does the music

Unfortunately, we still know very little about the new film, but there is good news about the person responsible for the music: none other than Hans Zimmer. He did a great job in the first two parts and is even said to be working on the score for Dune: Part Three. We expect a lot of earthy tones, electric guitars and especially bombastic sounds that make the scenes even more important than they already are. Including screaming women. To get in the mood:
