Amsterdam – The Amsterdam detective has started an investigation after a shooting incident on the early morning of April 27 (King’s Day) around 6 a.m. on the Oostelijke Handelskade and is looking for witnesses.
That morning, police officers were already present on Oostelijke Handelskade well before the shooting incident after ambulance personnel had requested assistance to treat a person who needed medical assistance with sufficient rest and space. At that moment a big brawl breaks out at the same location in which the police have to intervene. Four officers suffered minor injuries. One person has been arrested. Just before 6 a.m., when peace seems to have returned and police officers have continued on their way, the report comes in that shots have been fired in the street. An extensive investigation is immediately carried out at the location, during which a shell is found. Initially, no one could be found injured, but after an investigation it becomes clear that an injured 21-year-old from Amsterdam has already left for the hospital on his own.
